Can this cut Schedule 40 PVC pipe?
Yes. Schedule 40 PVC in sizes 1/2"–2" all have ODs under 2-1/2" and are fully compatible. It cannot handle Schedule-rated 2-1/2" pipe, which has an OD of ~2.875".
What is the minimum pipe size?
There is no minimum diameter limit; however, if the diameter is particularly small, I would recommend purchasing our other two sizes—they would be a better fit.
Will the blade stay sharp over time?
The 3CR13 blade has a self-sharpening geometry — performance improves with correct use. Replacement blades are available separately
Can it cut copper or steel pipe?
No. For plastic pipe only: PVC, CPVC, PEX, PP, PE, rubber hose, and multilayer tubing. Use a wheel-type cutter for metal pipe.
Why is the handle longer than others?
At 11 inches (vs. standard 9.6"), the longer handle provides more leverage and reduces hand strain, especially on thick-walled pipe. And the grip is symmetrical and works equally well in either hand.
